Dr. Cook is specially trained to provide laser frenectomies to infants and children with lip and tongue ties that may be negatively affecting breastfeeding, speech, or proper swallowing. Laser treatment allows for a quick and painless procedure that does not cause bleeding or require stitches afterward. Local anesthesia is typically not required. Infants are encouraged to breastfeed immediately after the procedure and older children are able to eat and return to school after their appointment with minimal discomfort. If you think your child may have a lip or tongue tie affecting their daily function, or if your pediatrician, lactation consultant, or speech therapist has mentioned this condition, please call our office to schedule a consultation and see if this treatment is appropriate for your child.
